The Friends of the Priest's House Museum invite you to a talk on 'The Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site: Conservation of Outstanding Universal Value' with Vincent May, Emeritus Professor of Geomorphology at Bournemouth University on Thursday 27 November, 7.30pm in the Hilda Coles Open Learning Centre at the museum. Professor May will explore the origins of the Jurassic Coast, from the rocks and processes which have formed it and led to its becoming a World Heritage Site. 250 million years of earth history from the earliest rocks formed in deserts to the erosion which allows those rocks and their fossils to be exposed to the world. This is a story about changing climates, expanding oceans and crumbling rocks, as well as its place in our history of science. Tickets are available from the Wimborne Tourist Information Centre or on 01202 886116 priced at £6, including refreshments (booking is essential).
