Shakespeare's 'Othello' Comes to the Priest's House

Posted on 02 Jun 2017

Dorset born SISATA present an outdoor production of Shakespeare's 'Othello' at the museum on Saturday 1 July, 6.30pm. It will be a bold, bright and brilliant explosion of a performance, giving you a feast for all your senses.

In a fast-paced telling of jealousy, love and ambition, Shakespeare's play follows the tragic story of Othello and his wife Desdemona. Four actors play multiple roles in this masterful debate on the human condition.

The performance is set against a backdrop of the 1980s, hip hop culture and drawn from the life and work of the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.

SISATA's mission is to bring engaging and interactive performances of classic stories accessibly to modern audiences, highlighting the timeless issues that are presented.

Bursting with energy and sincerity, in true SISATA style, there will still be laughter and song to tie together this extraordinary play.

This production has been adapted and directed by Charmaine K Parkin and is presented in partnership with the Lighthouse, Poole.

Tickets priced at £12.50 (concession £10.50, family £38) are available at www.ticketsource.co.uk/sisata or on 0333 666 3366 (booking fees apply). Places are limited. Running time is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. The performance is suitable for ages 12+. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
