Volunteers Needed

Posted on 12 Sep 2016
The museum is holding an information session about volunteering on Friday 23 September, 10.30 to 12.30. To discover more about volunteering at the museum come along to an informal morning, including a guided tour of the museum and the opportunity to meet some of our volunteers. Tea and coffee will be provided. The museum is a registered charity and volunteers give over 10,000 hours of their time each year. Their energy and enthusiasm is a real support to the museum's work and every hour that is given is valued. The museum always needs new volunteers and is currently looking for extra help to welcome visitors and provide refreshments. The museum entrance and shop is where visitors are welcomed to the museum and provided with information about their visit. The role includes ticket and shop sales, as well as answering general enquiries. The Garden Tea Room serves light refreshments and is popular with visitors. If you have experience of catering or are keen to learn, please get in touch. If you have a few hours to spare, and would like to discover more about helping your local museum, and the benefits of volunteering to you please come along or contact the museum.
