Priest's House Theatre

Posted on 11 Apr 2016
A new Theatre Company for Learning Disabled adults successfully launched in January this year in partnership with the museum. The Priest's House Museum Theatre Company meets monthly on a Saturday morning. Led by professional theatre practitioners Tam Gilbert (Persuasion Arts) and Tony Horitz (State of Play), the group works through games and improvisation to explore some of the objects in the museum and bring stories to life. There are still a few places for people to join the company for enthusiastic individuals, with some experience and commitment to drama. You must be over 18, good at teamwork and be able to get to Wimborne punctually. Membership is free thanks to funding by Arts Council England, Wimborne Rotary Club and East Dorset District Council, as well as support from the Priest's House Museum Trust. The museum's Director, Emma Ayling, states: "I am thrilled that this project is happening in the museum." Tam Gilbert continues: "We're really pleased with how the workshops are going so far. We're excited about the talent in the group and look forward to welcoming new members." The drama workshops will take place on various Saturday mornings at the museum from 10.00am to 12.00/12.30pm.
