To celebrate Wimborne Food & Drink Festival, the museum will offering free entry on Saturday 24 October, 10.00 to 4.30. 'For Home and Country' is a new exhibition at the museum to mark 100 years of the Women's Institute. To tie in with the display Country Markets has been invited to have a couple of tables in the Hilda Coles Open Learning Centre at the museum on the 24 October, where a selection of jams, preserves and baked goods can be purchased. For more than 90 years there has been a network of Country Markets across the England, Wales and the Channel Islands offering a variety of produce. The stalls will be open from 10.00 for part of the day. The museum is located in the heart of the beautiful market town of Wimborne Minster. Discover our stunning Roman wall paintings, the fascinating childhood gallery and a unique Victorian Valentine card collection as the museum tells the story of East Dorset. Explore period rooms from a 17th century hall to the working Victorian kitchen, finding out how life and work has changed in this historic townhouse. Wander through a beautiful and peaceful walled garden. Our gift shop and tearoom complete any visit. The Garden Tea Room will be open, where visitors can relax and enjoy a refreshing drink, including a choice of coffees, a selection of delicious cakes, and light warming winter savoury snacks.
