We provide active hands-on sessions which support the Foundation Curriculum and Early Years topics. All the themes link to the building and collections.
Groups will rotate around three or four different activities which last approximately 20-30 minutes each. Most of the sessions will be led by our learning assistants who all have enhanced CRB checks. Some trail and craft activities will be self-directed, but full instructions and materials will be provided.
If you have a theme or topic you would like us to support, please contact Anne Brown, Learning & Community Outreach Officer, on 01202 882533 or email us at priestshouse@eastdorset.gov.uk.
We tell the story of the Gingerbread Man in our Victorian kitchen and all along the garden path down to the river. Make gingerbread men in the Victorian kitchen and choose from a selection of art and craft activities.
Children can enjoy the festive decorations and a Christmas story at the museum, make Christmas biscuits in the Victorian kitchen and take part in Victorian Christmas-themed games and art and craft activities.
Percy the Pigeon is looking for a new home but he just can't find the right place to stay. Hear his story and help him work out what to do. Make nest cakes in the Victorian kitchen and choose from a range of art and craft and mystery object activities.
Traditional and contemporary stories and rhymes are used as the basis of these hands-on sessions. Each session will include a story and cooking in the Victorian kitchen. You may also choose from a range of games, and art and craft activities.
