The Great War – Storytelling and Music with Harp and a Monkey

Award-winning modern folk and storytelling trio Harp and a Monkey specialise in poignant, humorous and melodic historic short stories (traditional and original) about life, love and remembrance. Their work has been described as "bold and brilliant" by the likes of The Observer, "fantastic" and "fascinating" by Mark Radcliffe of BBC Radio 2, "inventive" by Mojo, "excellent" by The Guardian, and "rousing" by The Daily Telegraph.

Their innovative approach has seen them undertake numerous projects with the likes of the Arts Council and leading national galleries and museums. Fronted by First World War historian, author and broadcaster Dr Martin Purdy, the trio enjoy a fantastic rapport with their audiences and will perform their acclaimed First World War show for the first time in this part of England. The show is family friendly.
